A Review on Studies of Passive Personal Gas Sampler

    • Passive personal gas samplers are small in size, light in weight, inexpensive, easy to use with no need for power supply and pumping force to operate, and the output data are the time-weighted average concentrations of gaseous pollutants during the period of sampling. Therefore, passive personal gas samplers are particularly suitable for long-term sampling at multiple points and beneficial for evaluating the effects of indoor air pollutants on human health as well as the level of individual exposure. The classification and working principle of passive personal gas samplers were introduced and the progress on the domestic and abroad studies of collecting typical indoor air pollutants with passive personal gas samplers are summarized in this paper. The development prospects of passive personal gas samplers are also discussed.
