    Air Pollution in Semi-enclosed Large-scale Comprehensive Passenger Transport Hubs

    • Objectives To investigate the concentration and distribution characteristics of pollutants in large-scale comprehensive passenger transport hubs.
      Methods Detecting the concentration of carbon monoxide (CO), non-methane hydrocarbon (NMHC), nitrogen oxides (NOx), sulfur dioxide (SO2) and particulate matter (PM10) at different monitoring sites inside and outside of hubs during different seasons.
      Results The pollutants exhausted from automobile in hubs were higher than those in the open-air sites outside of hubs, especially during winter, summer and rush hours. The major pollutant in hubs was nitrogen oxides; and its average concentration was 1.71±1.07 mg/m3.
      Conclusions The current situation of air pollution in semi-enclosed large-scale comprehensive passenger transport hubs could not be ignored; developing relevant standards to protect human health should be as early as possible.
